Wookey Pack Information $0.00

What is a Wookey? In the Rockies, Wookey is synonymous with well-built high-tech gear. Founded in 1997, Wookey has been quietly evolving a line of backpacks that look and feel like nothing else in the industry. In the beginning, necessity inspired the creation of the first Wookey shovel pack. In 1995 Sky Sterry, (Cofounder of Wookey with Trisha Wookey), was an aerial tramway operator, (lift-op dirtbag), at Big Sky. It was the first year of the tram. The tram enabled access to extreme acreage on Big Sky's south face and the Big Couloir. Extreme conditions require extreme gear and those who choose to risk it all in the narrows of the Big Couloir are required to check in with ski patrol and carry an avalanche transceiver and a snow shovel. Sky was too broke to buy a shovel pack and couldn't find one that functioned and fit well, so he decided to build his own. Starting with a pattern made of cafeteria butcher paper the first Wookey pack was born. Sky purchased materials from local Big Sky hero Andy Tuller, (of Outa Ware), and stitched them together a la Frankenstein, on a struggling, ramshackle home machine. The pack not only worked great but friends started putting in orders for their own. Since then enthusiasm and demand for Wookey packs has grown and in January of 1997, Trisha and Sky decided to enter the fast paced backpack-manufacturing industry. Warranty: All of our backpacks are guaranteed to be free of defects in material and craftsmanship for the life of the pack. This warranty does not extend to wear and tear resulting from abuse, negligence, or Mac trucks... it has happened. Wookey will happily repair any damage not covered under warranty at a reasonable rate. If you are unsure if the damage your pack has sustained is covered by our policy, call us and we will be happy to give you the low-down. Please clean the pack before sending it in and make sure to enclose a note with your name, address and phone number.
